Course Recognition & Accreditation
Our courses have been independently assessed by the CPD Certification Service
in the UK and comply with their professional standards. The Certificate issued to those attending our multiday courses will show that they have completed 7 hours of training p/day, which they can then take to their professional body to request to turn into Continual Professional Development (CPD) Points.
Our courses are also recognized by the Open Source Intelligence and Research Association
as supplying 7 hours of professional training credits p/day.
2 Day Basic Course
2 Day Social Networking Course
3 Day Standard Course
The 2 day courses cover the basics of locating & accessing the relevant information online but do not include sessions on the law, recording the information recovered or how to handle intelligence.
The 3 day course, as well as covering all of the content from the 2 day courses, introduces the delegates to the relevant issues surrounding the law and recording the information recovered. Whilst the 4 and 5 day courses go into more detail on these issues and allow the delegates the opportunity to try the techniques only discussed or demonstrated on the shorter courses.
These courses have practical elements but are not pass or fail courses. All of those attending will be given a Certificate of Attendance.
The 4 and 5 day courses are pass or fail courses with the final marked pass rate set at 70%.
Those that fail the course will be given a Certificate of Attendance for the Course on “Using The Internet As An Investigative Tool”; whereas those that pass the course will be given a Certificate of Completion on “Using The Internet As An Investigative Tool”.
The full 4 day course is also recognised by the University of Portsmouth’s Institute of Criminal Justice Studies
as equivalent to 20 credits towards Level 4 (year 1) Unit Introduction To Research Skills of the BSc (Hons) Risk & Security Management and BSc (Hons) Counter Fraud & Criminal Justice Studies courses.
Those having successfully passed the full courses and having been given a Certificate of Completion for the Course are eligible to be awarded the full Certification as an “Accredited Open Source Intelligence Internet Researcher” which is recognised by University of Portsmouth’s Institute of Criminal Justice Studies
To achieve this a delegate must complete a 2500 word reflective report, showing how they have used the techniques covered on the course on a series of enquiries, to be received by email by us within 12 weeks of the completion of the course. Those applying for this will be provided with additional information in relation to how to compile this reflective report.

The 5 Day Advanced Course is currently only available through the University of Central Lancashire
as a Module on their Cybercrime Investigations MSC
