Email To Linkedin Account (will search an email address to identify any linked public Linkedin account, as long as the account has activated to the profile discovery using email address function for everyone)
Or, if you have an email address for a subject you can see if it is associated to a Linkedin account by importing it in to your Contacts. To do this you have to sign in to your Linkedin account and select My Network from the top of the page, then select Contacts and then Add More Contacts. From there you can select Upload a File and then Upload a .txt or .csv file containing the email addresses you want searched. It will then import these email addresses into your Contacts and highlight the ones which are associated with a Linkedin account, with the account details displayed, or allow you to invite the others to Linkedin if they are not already associated with a Linkedin account.

Viewing An Individual's Linkedin Account ID Number
If you are viewing a Linkiedin account for an individual, then you can obtain their Linkedin Account ID Number, known as a Member Number by viewing the Source Code (right click & View Page Source) of the account and searching for the term urn:li:member:. There will be around 100 results but just go down to the last one shown and you should find the Member Number displayed near to the subject's name. It was previously easy to turn a Linkedin Account ID Number into a Linkedin account but this is no longer available but can be used to confirm an account is the same as one previously viewed.
When Was A Linkedin Account Created
To identify when a LinkedIn account was created, as well as when the Contact Information and Profile Photo were last updated, click on the More button and select About This Profile.
Leaving A Footprint On Linkedin
With a standard Linkedin account you can select what level of footprint you leave behind when you are signed in to Linkedin and viewing someones account. You can choose to leave either your full account details, or just general details of your occupation and the area of the country you are based in, or no details, which means you won't see who has viewed your account details.
To alter your footprint, slect Setting & Privacy, then Visability and then select Profile Viewing Options and select which of the three optionsd best you use of Linkedin.
